DMYC dancers are invited to join us on Saturday, November 14 for a day of master classes, informal performances, and fun! DMYC dancers will take a full day of classes, create a dance film, enjoy an informal performance opportunity, and finish the day with a pizza party at our Fall 2020 Conference. A specific class schedule will be released after the registration deadline.
Registration deadline: EXTENDED to Tuesday, November 3.
$60/dancer. Must be a member of the DMYC.
BYO lunch (dancers may use studio refrigerator, freezer, and microwave)
Dinner provided (pizza party!)
Families on auto-draft will be charged any open balances the 1st of the month.
Cards are run for ALL FAMILIES with open balances on the 15th of the month.
All DMYC dancers who attend the Fall Conference will present their group piece during the informal performance. This is an informal show, so no need to worry if dancers are missing from each group! We want to share and celebrate the pieces each group has created so far this season.
We are working on live-streaming the performance so that families can watch with us. If weather permits, we will hold this performance and our pizza party in the back parking lot so that all participants can watch the performance live. Performers will wear tennis shoes while dancing. In the event of poor weather, we will hold the performance in Studio C and live-stream the show to dancers watching in other studios.
Additionally, dancers participating in the Fall Conference may also perform a self-choreographed solo or small group piece during the informal performance. Space is limited, and pieces will be accepted until the performance time slot is full (first come, first served!).
Click here to view the Informal Performance Info Sheet. Deadline EXTENDED to submit all Informal Performance information for self-choreographed solos or small groups: Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

Dance Film: In the first hour of this class we will generate dance movement that is specific to where we will be filming. Once the movement is created we will discuss how to choreograph with the camera, and how it can act as a voice for what the choreographer wants to be seen. In our second hour of class, we will film the dance we created! Weather is going to play a role in where this dance will take place, so bring your tennis shoes just in case!
Improv Class & Jam: Dancers will be guided through various improvisation exercises leading into an open improv jam session. We will focus on finding new methods of inspiration to generate movement and patterns as individuals and a group.
Hip Hop Cardio: Get your body moving and grooving with a Hip Hop cardio warm up that is sure to get you ready for a day full of dancing. In Ms. Brice’s class we will get our heart rate up and learn some sick moves all at the same time. Class will include cardio, strength and flexibility training and we will learn a fun combo at the end!
Musical Theater: This is a jazz-based class derived from various styles of music and movement one would typically see on a Broadway stage. It will incorporate a Luigi jazz warm up, across the floor combinations, and choreography in the styles of Jerome Robbins, Bob Fosse, and Twyla Tharp.
