What is the DMYC?

Our mission is to be a youth dance company that fosters each dancer’s self-esteem through the knowledge of and appreciation for dance as a professional form of art and provides educational opportunities for our students to explore dance technique and performance.

The Youth Company rehearses weekly as a full-ensemble and throughout the week for smaller, additional pieces to build season repertoire.

Now in its ninth season, the DMYC has performed at local school festivals, the Carolina Green Fair, KidsFair, South Carolina Stingrays Hockey games, a Harlem Globetrotters game, Piccolo Spoleto, the North Charleston Arts Festival, concerts produced by the South Carolina Dance Association (SCDA), and the Charlotte Dance Festival. Additionally, the company presents its own informal concert in December and Spring concert in a traditional theater.

  • Hair pulled neatly off face and secured back

DMYC PRICING: $125/semester or one full-year payment of $250.

These fees help the DMYC cover rehearsal costs, staffing, costumes, performances, etc. We plan for our December Concert to be virtual (recording day TBD), and these fees will cover video and lighting equipment, videographer fees, and editing fees. All DMYC-related fees are now processed through our online system, just like classes! Families can now use the same payment method they use for classes for the DMYC. The first-semester payment of $125 is due October 1, 2020. The second-semester payment of $125 is due February 1, 2021. Families on auto-draft payment plans for monthly tuition will automatically be charged their DMYC semester fee on the due dates listed above. Fees that are not paid by the due date will be run on the card on-file on the 15th of the month. Payment plans are available, but families must notify Julie or Jessica at least 2 weeks before the semester fee due date to set-up different payment plans.
