Dress Rehearsals 2024
All Dress Rehearsals are at our STUDIO located on James Island. Your dancer’s class is assigned a specific Dress Rehearsal day & time Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30. Dress Rehearsals are NOT the same day & time as your normal class.

Recital Shows 2024
All Recital Shows are Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. Your dancer’s class is assigned to perform in one recital show. Check your email for show assignments or find your dancer’s class in the info packets on the Recital info page in the parent portal.
DMYC Spring Concert: IN HARMONY
The Dance Moves Youth Company presents its 12th season Spring concert: IN HARMONY
Sunday, April 21 at The Pearl Theatre (1401 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, 29407).
Two show times: 4:30 PM & 6:30 PM. Each show runs approx. 50 minutes.
Tickets are $15/adult and $10/ages 2-12.
Pre-purchasing tickets is highly encouraged. Tickets can be purchased 3 ways:

DMYC Emerging Artist Experience for ages 7-11 (Spring 2024)
Is your dancer curious about the Dance Moves Youth Company?
Dancers ages 7-11 are invited to participate in the Dance Moves Youth Company's "Emerging Artist" experience on Monday, April 8 1 from 1-3pm (CCSD is not in school this day!). Dancers will rehearse with a DMYC choreographer on April 8 at the studio to learn a short modern dance piece. Dancers will then perform this piece as part of the DMYC's Spring Concerts on Sunday, April 21 at The Pearl Theatre (1401 Sam Rittenberg Blvd in West Ashley).
COST: $30 per dancer (includes rehearsal time, costume costs, & production fees). Register online under "Community Events" or contact Julie@DanceMovesofCharleston.com
Dance with Me Class
Dance with Me Class: Thursdays 9:30-10am 5-Week Session. This class is designed for the child who is walking steadily and loves music, movement and socializing with other children their age, but is not quite ready to leave the side of their loved one. Ideal for ages 12 months/walking-2.5 years. This fun interactive class is a great way to bond with your dancer. Register online or call our office for drop-in class options: 843-212-3768.
Dance Moves Youth Company Informal Concert & Holiday Social
Join the Dance Moves Youth Company for its 2023 Informal Concert on Saturday, Dec. 16 at FAME Performing Arts/Encore Music Hall (757 Long Point Rd, Mt Pleasant). The show begins at 3:30pm, runs approx. 35 minutes, and is followed by a hot chocolate & cookie social! The company will perform pieces created & rehearsed during the Fall 2023 semester. Tickets are $10/Adult or $5/ages 10 & younger. Purchase tickets by logging in to Studio Director and searching the Online Store OR email Julie@DanceMovesofCharleston.com.

Let’s Get Swifty Pizza & Dance Party
AGES 5-10 | Come par'TAY' with us for a night filled with Taylor Swift themed fun. Guests will be provided a pizza dinner, enjoy a full length jazz dance class, learn a combo to a Taylor song, engage in group karaoke, make a friendship bracelet craft -- all while the grown ups get a night for themselves! Bohemian Bull: SPIRIT NIGHT!
Dance Moves Spirit Night is happening soon at Bohemian Bull on James Island! Help raise funds for the Youth Company dancers to travel and perform throughout the southeast during the 2023-24 season! Grab your friends, put on your DM apparel and join us at Bohemian Bull on Tuesday, September 12th. This fundraiser is for Dine In or Carry Out from 5-9pm only! 10% of proceeds from all orders from 5-9pm will be donated for our Dance Moves Youth Company! OPEN HOUSE
Join us for our 2023-24 season Open House! Thursday, August 24 from 2:30-6:30pm at our James Island Studio (349 Folly Road Suite 1B). Be fitted for dancewear, sign up for classes, and tour the studio space! No appointment needed.

Daddy/Daughter Dance Class: 3-Week Session
Calling all Daddy/Daughter Duos! Spend quality time together in this fun, exciting dance class. Dads: NO DANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! An in-person performance is scheduled on last day of class. All coordinating outfits and dress clothing welcome on the day of the performance! *Must have 4 duos to run, no more than 8 duos total. If you would like to add an additional child and turn your duo into a trio, please email or call us. Adding a second dancer is $15.
Together Time w/ Tots Dance Class
Mondays 4:30-5pm, July 10 - 31. The perfect way for moms, dads, and caregivers to move and groove with their young dancer! Ages 12 months to 3 years are welcome, 1 guardian per dancer. $55 for 4-week session, $15 for Single Drop-in class. Email Rachel@DanceMovesofCharleston.com to register for a single drop-in class.
Summer Intensive (ages 10-18)
SUMMER INTENSIVE 2023: Monday, June 26 - Thursday, June 29. Daily classes from 1:00 - 2:30 PM. Dancers will take a different 90-minute class each day given by a professional guest artist! For dancers ages 10 up wishing to take their dance technique & experience to the next level (dancers ages 8-9 by invitation only). Classes will include Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, & Hip Hop. Classes are 1:00-2:30pm Monday, June 26 through Thursday, June 29. 4 Day/4Class bundle for $100 or Single class fee of $35. Register under the “Community Events” tab. Questions? Contact us! DMYC Performance: Piccolo Spoleto - Stelle Di Domani Series at the College of Charleston
The Dance Moves Youth Company will perform in the Stelle Di Domani Series at the College of Charleston during the Piccolo Spoleto Festival. In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Dance Major at CofC, the Department of Theatre and Dance is presenting a dance concert featuring the work of alumni who are making an impact in our dance community. Featuring works in a variety styles, this concert will be performed by students and companies from dance organizations throughout the Lowcountry. As CofC alumni, Dance Moves choreographers Julie DeLizza Clark and Brice Flowers are presenting pieces performed by members of the DMYC. Dance Moves Youth Company Performance
The DMYC will perform at the JI Town Market “First Friday” on October 7 from 6:15-6:45pm. The “First Friday” event is from 6-9pm includes local vendors, food trucks, produce, free movie on the big screen at dusk, and more! Location: 1122 Dills Bluff (entrance at 1101 Camp Road).
